I have a Suziki GN125 that my wife and son ride. The chain seems to have too much slack in it. I have tightened it 2x's this summer. Why does it continue to loosen? Am I not tightening it right or is this normal. I love my shaft drive.

On my chain drive Seca it is recommended to check the chain every 300 miles. I tighten my chain 3 times a summer. Keep it well lubed with a good quality lube. Sight down chain and check the chain runs straight from sprocket to sprocket

I have adjustments on both sides with marks to keep even. Will this keep it aligned or do I need to eye it up from behind? I started using chain wax every 3000 miles. Buddy of mine swears by it.

Could be: Chain is dirty and needs cleaning, not just lubricating. (or) You're getting it too tight, causing it to stretch back out quickly. (or) WORN SPROCKETS--perform the "pull test." Grab the pin of a link that is in the 3:00 position on the rear sprocket and pull it away from the sprocket. If more than 1/2 of the SPROCKET TOOTH (half the tooth, not half an inch) is exposed, then the sprocket(s) are worn and should be replaced along with the chain. If memory serves, the GN125 is a single, is it not? They tend to be a bit hard on the drivetrain...you didn't say how many miles are on it or if it is the original chain. I wouldn't expect more than about 12K-15K miles out of a chain, and a set of sprockets every other chain...
