Thanks to Chacal I got hold of 4 undamaged pilot air screws to replace the original chewed up ones in my carbs. Three of the old ones gave up and came out after a fight but the fourth is being a cow.

I soaked it in penetrating oil for severl days then tried heating the ally but it was so badly chewed up the screw driver could'nt get it to move. I drilled it and tried an easy out and have now moved up to larger easy out's but it still wont budge.

I dont trust my eyes to see what's going on if I tried gradually drilling away the brass wihout damaging the carb body so any ideas would be very welcome.

    Off topic.

I'm hoping to visit a friend in Frederick Maryland sometime in the autumn,
planning a tour around the battle fields. If anyone around there would like to meet up and have a beer and a natter .

I'd see if anyone has a spare carb body they would be willing to part with. If it's being that difficult to remove, no telling what the condition of the hole will be once you get they darn thing out!

It's an air jet, not a fuel jet?
Either way, you could drill it out, including the threads, then just epoxy it in there.
We're fixing float supports with JBweld, with no problems.
    Git-er done! :)
