So I went on an ADV ride this past weekend. Took the Maxim. It was pretty awsome. even the 400 miles total of dirt roads, and 100 miles of fire trails for the poker runs were no match for my adventure Maxim!

    Here are the pics!

MY good friend was born in Anchorage, Alaska and keeps telling me I need to ride it. These pictures convinced me!

How did the Maxim handle throughout the ride? Any issues you can think of? I'm currently gearing mine up for a cross country ride.

The maxim did great on the ride. I used Seca Turbo air suspension in the back, and some low mileage forks from my midnight maxim on the front for better handling, and just some Kenda cruiser tires @ oem pressure.

On this ride we determined that the v-strom is a little too big and unwieldy for a lot of the riding. Plus, it has too many plastic parts that can get scratched up, break, or crack from drops or cold+vibration.

Once over with the pressure washer and she was clean as a whistle again.

great picks. I have yet to take a big adv. ride me and the guys talk about it but never has. I think one reason is my main riding buddy has an HD. His favorite line is You ride a harley you ride the best. ride a mile and walk the rest. That and for some strange reason no matter what we do he has got to be hom eby 1-2pm sunday no later. Snowmobile trips, bike trips he just doesn't like being out when work in the next day.

There was a guy on our trip that rode a late model Harley Sportster 883. He was pretty hardcore.
