    Oooh, Baby!

Show-up with 20-thousand bucks, ... you go home with an Exciting New Norton Commando and just over 5-Hundred change.

But, ... I have an idea that the 5-Bills you have left is going to be needed for "Destination" ... or, "Dealer Markup"

    Twenty-Gees!
Which is 19-thousand 9-hundred and 99 more Gees than I got.

"Geeze. Nice bike. I can't afford one!"

Yeah... I'd like to see one but I doubt they will even make it this far south.

Yeah, I know. We've talked about these before. Speaking from my view as the long-time owner of an ORIGINAL Norton Commando, I'm kind of disappointed.

They didn't DEVELOP it; just updated it with a bunch of spiffy new components. It's still a PUSHROD PARALLEL TWIN.

PARALLEL twin, not vertical twin. There's a difference, missed by most. A PARALLEL TWIN'S pistons go up and down together, like a giant single.

Not alternately, like pedaling a bicycle, like a nice logical vertical twin.

It's nothing more than an expensive flashy retrobike, and will never have the "world-beating" performance that distinguished the original Norton Commando when it debuted in 1968. It's a "true" cafe racer, a sheep in wolf's clothing. The truth sucks sometimes.

I love British bikes; but this one had so much potential and I feel they've missed the mark. I'll hang onto the real thing.
