I have been looking online for aftermarket pegs for like 4 days. Its for an xj550 maxim and so far the only ones I have found for metric bikes aren't made for the maxim.... at all. What pegs from other bikes would fit or with little mods. I have some sharp, chrome handgrips and kinda want pegs that would go with that look. I am taking off the brackets and chroming those as well but really don't want to change the front or rear brackets.
Anyway... can someone... for the love of pete, help me narrow it down?

There are two types of riders. The ones who've dropped a bike and the ones that will drop a bike. |

I'm not sure where exactly it is, but someone on here put M109R footpegs on a maxim.

| man, you're really going all out with your bike, good for you. I'm writing this trying to remember what i've seen other people use for their bike, theres some honda bike that comes to mind... also, jsut thinking aobut this... maybe try early vmax stuff, the maxim 700 and vmax were build the same year... I would think yamaha could have just used the same design and stuff, and i sure theres a good aftermarket community for the early vmax's |
yeah... going nuts with it. Mostly on ebay. Was in knee deep on buying that hayabusa and scared myself out of it... now the guilt of neglecting my maxim is kicking in and I am giving her a makeover. Don't know how it'll turn out yet but we'll see. I usually buy bikes and run them into the ground. This one, for some reason, is different. I bought it with 8,670 actual miles... my buddy and I put about 6,000 more on it just this past summer. Beat it to hell, he dropped it, I dropped it, we used it as a dirtbike once, left it out in the rain, rode it in the rain, I hit a deer on it, wheelies, races, he jumped it on accident once... etc. Beat the sh** out of it and it still runs like a monkey with its ass on fire. Ev, (my friend and brother) was killed in a car accident on thanksgiving day. The bike deserves to shine again and I plan on riding it forever.... no matter how many rebuilds it takes. So yeah... going nuts. And I think the Honda Nighthawk might have parts that would fit... might try that or some ascott parts. Thanks!

If you don't mind sending stuff to the chrome shop, then go find some huge chain links and weld them together for chrome "floorboards".
Custom, one-off, totally awesome.
