glass packs are loud on a v8 but what kind of sound do you think a four cyl motorcycle engine would push through them?

To be able to hear yourself think, ... you need some-kind of Muffler or Silencer.
I had a guy in here with Glass Packs that you could roll a Tennis Ball through the things.
They had just-enough stuff in them to have them NOT be illegal "Straight Pipes".

I've ran small tractor mufflers on some of my cars in thpast. They are reasonably priced and sound good, not loud at all. I figured most smaler tractors (Farmall, international, etc) are four cylinder engines, so using a tractor muffler for each 4 cylinder bank of the engine should work.
They make the correct size for our bikes too. I found mine at the Fleet Farm store.

My Mac 4 - 1 system has a final outlet pipe about 6 inches long and 1 3/8 inside diameter. (I also packed the Mac with glass and screen)
The final outlet size is really going to shape the sound. A glasspack with a 2" outlet is going to be loud. It would be easy to make a removable insert and try different size restrictions.

The link jonrms gave was very interesting. The supplier has a slash cut 24" universal muffler. This looks like one I installed on my Maxim 20 years ago. Nice fit, nice and quiet, no loss of power. The stainless bar (included as per picture) will facilitate supporting by the original mounting point. These are the only non original replacement parts on my bike.

Summit Racing has them for 16.00 Dynamax I think. The can with seam type. Slightly quieter than the cherry bombs. Heck for that price you could have them jet coated to be fancy.

Jonrms those look sick nasty! I'd love to replace something like that on my 700 instead of the megaphones. Awesome! That slash cut looks sexy

yep slash cuts .. turn outs... all sort.. the guy will ship all over just tell him I sent you all along... OR there must be somewhere that sells them back home.. ie in america...

My goal is to put a 4 into 2 exhaust (like it is already) BUT having the exhausts on one side of the bike.. the right side..... so I can have a side mount number plate on the left.
