For those of you looking for stats or performance results
    here you go.

    TIRE; Dunlop 404 130/90 16 67H.
Bought 14 months ago, good overall performance, as the air
cooled they felt a little less sticky (as you would expect ) but
    no slipping in the turns.
Right now the tread is down to the "warning flats" and needs to be
replaced. TOTAL MILAGE so far, 26,224.
If i wanted to, I could burn another 4-5000 but would rather play
    safe.

Oil; I've had bikes for 30 yrs and only when these new "modified"
oils hit the market was there much of a question about brand/type
etc. We used dino of the correct wt and that was it.
Up untill this last oil change I used castrol GTX. 10w40 in winter,
20w50 in summer. It's high quality and at $3.60 a qt a great
price (I change oil & filter between 2000 and 2300 miles).
Then I tried castol 4T m/c oil on the advice of another member.
BIG difference! The clutch is quieter and all the "clunk" has
gone away. It's only a few cents more per qt then the GTX and well
worth it. NOTE: there was little diff for the first few miles but after
    that you really notice it.
I hope some more of you will share your experiance so we can
choose with more confidence rather then guessing.

<<edit>> sorry guys, I'm quite embarssed, the milage on the
rear tire shopuld read 16,224...I apologize to anyone that may
have run out to buy the dunlap. Although I just bought another one
today i just noticed my mistake...again sorry for the error.
    Ron

Dude you must ride like an old lady (no offense.) Seriously, that is good tire life and then some!

The D404 on the rear of my 550 Seca is almost done at around 8000, I may squeeze another 2K out of it but that would be it.

A NEW experience for me, the front is nearly worn out too. On the Norton I go thru 4 rears to one front.

    well, maybe, lol.
I live in a small town with a cop on every other street so
    I drive the speed limit.
    I only put about 150 200 miles a week but only because I can't
    afford more fuel.

I try to go anywhere other than "my local shop"! I really don't mind someone making a profit off me (that's why most folks go into a business) but you don't even get a kiss before you leave  ...
