yet another gauge question

    I have an 82 xj750 maxim,the needles are broke off both the tach and the speedo, the display won't work ether. I would like to replace the cluster. I know there only a few electronic options due to the electric tach and dry spark. Is there a way to put a cable drive tach on this bike?

    Is the casting there on the head and just not machined?

    You would also need an exhaust camshaft with the gear on it, unless it's on yours and just not used, I don't know.

    there's nothing special about it, just about any electronic tach will work
