I was doing some work in the battery box area and had to disconnect a few wires to make room to remove the battery and air boxes. I have reconnected everything but there are a few orphans seemingly without matches and I was wondering if one of you wiring gurus could tell me where they go.

I had a yellow and a green wire that I believe went to the rear brake lamp switch; can someone verify that this is correct?

    Now for the orphans:

Solid Blue. It has a male plug connector and branches off the 5-wire harness to the ignitor under the seat

Black w/ red stripe. It has a female connector and branches off the main harness,

Solid White. With a male plug connector it is a single shielded wire that runs under the trans/eng and disappears. I think it might go to the kick stand switch but am not sure.

Solid Teal. Could just be a faded blue or green but looks teal now... It has a female connector and comes off the main harness where the four-wire plug that goes to the ignitor branches out.

Any help is much appreciated! Thanks!

How about you PM me with your email address and I will send you the 550 Maxim wiring diagram and cable routing/component location diagrams from the factory book?

    anytime.

Email on way, that should be everything you need for this puzzle.

Add your bikes mileage to your sig, saves asking.

wow... there really is a chocolate wire and a brown wire.

Now when they say chocolate is that white, milk or dark chocolate and how does one tell the difference?

When I come across one should I make sure the battery is plugged in, stick my finger in the ground, and lick the bare wire?

thanks again for the diagrams! they will help a lot in the future!

I also edited my sig with the current mileage
