So I picked up my first bike today. Its a 92 Seca II xj600. I got it for $500.
It currently doesn't run :( but the previous owner said its probably the carbs, and the fact that the battery is completely dead (whats the part number for XJ batteries?) . Also, the shifter linkage feels to be pretty loose, but hey, I can't be picky for $500.
A little background info. I'm Kurt, I'm 20 years old, and a full time International Studies student. I've been racing motocross since I was 16 ( on a Yamaha YFZ450 of course) and have rebuilt my motor from ground up countless time, so I would say I know how to work on bikes.
This is actually my first road bike, and I don't even have my license yet. But I want to get it running before I do all that.
Is there anything I should look for to get this running, and is there any good DIYs for cleaning the carbs?
Heres a picture of the bike:

Your Bike is going to be a lot different from most of ours.

You'll have considerably more "Plumbing" to disconnect, ... so use Masking Tape and >Label< each Hose with a Number or Letter and write-down in your notes where it goes.

Yeah I noticed that there isn't really any Seca IIs on this site. Do you happen to know a site for the Seca II?
