Fuel drip from petcock

    It appears to be leaking a steady drip from the body of the petcock. I tried tightening the 5 screws on the petcock but it didn't help. Is it possible to take the petcock apart and put some RTV on it to seal it up?

    Spend the $30-$40 and get a rebuild kit. It is probably a bad diaphram or inner seal. You may need a new wavey washer too. If the diaphram is bad, it will leak gas into the engine, also.

    Try "tweaking" the wave washer first - might just need a little tightening.
