82 XJ1100 for sale

I have an 82 XJ1100 that runs ok, but is having some problems that are beyond my ability to fix so I'm putting it up for sale.

I'm not looking to part it out, but just trying to make some of my money back and hopefully help someone that could use it.

The bike does start and run, but I haven't been able to ride it much as it doesn't run well and i have a post up about the shifter problems that I don't know how to approach. Basically, the shifter tends to get stuck in first so when i ride I just take off in second. Compression tests showed 90psi in each cylinder.

I've installed a new battery, done a little bit of spray bomb painting to make it look presentable, changed the oil and did a very rough job of cleaning out the inside of the gas tank. There is still considerable rust inside the tank, but the worst of the worst has been removed. Also painted the exhaust with some Por-15 Black Magic and wrapped it all in exhaust wrap as a little winter project.

Few points i forgot to mention...

The bike has about 19K on the clock, new brake pads all around, and the gauge cluster works fine.

As for price, all reasonable offers will be considered but I'm thinking around the $700 range, but you guys are the experts so let me know.

Pick up only off... zip is 11729 where it's being kept.

 

The price is good, if I lived a little closer I would buy it.

I don't see too many 1100's on here for sale so I wasn't sure if my price was way too low, reasonable, or way too high.
