As I end my ride for the day I do a plug chop as I enter the drive way. After a long ride I'm worn out and may not pull the plugs for a few days. The question is will the colour of the plugs still be true days later?

Should be as long as no one starts the motor.
Most chops are done under load at around 5000 rpm.
do you have a very long driveway or just checking them
    at low speed?
I'm only asking because I haven't heard of it done that way
before and new knowledge is our best friend.

"Chops" are overrated unless you're racing. Pull the plugs now and then and read them. I'm about to do just that with my '83, I did 173 miles yesterday, pulled in the driveway and shut it off. Now we'll just have a look.

As I came down the road to the drive at 4000 rpm I hit the kill switch and pull in the clutch and coast in to drive.
