What would I need to change besides the side covers? Seat? Mounts? I am under the impression that the 750 seca tank has a sending unit in it. Will this need to clear anything or is it tucked away under the tank.

    Thx

The sending unit (gas gauge) is on the bottom of the tank. Swap will work fine...

Well, not "fine" fine. The frames are different; the Maxim's is shorter and has more "downswoop" from the steering head to the rear suspension. While the tank may GO ON, it's not gonna fit like it did on the original bike; and the sidecovers are far from a straight swap, mounting-wise (not to mention angle-wise.)

You'll find the seats are completely different.

Do a "Google Image" search for both bikes and compare side views, you'll see what I'm talking about.

Thanks Fitz! When he mentioned the side covers, I just took it for granted the other things ( like the seat) that wouldn't match  ...

I plan on making my own side covers so I'm not too worried about them. Sounds like the tank mounting points will work as is or perhaps with a little tinkering. The seat will also be replaced with a homemade "frankinseat". I'm assuming I'll have to use a seca seat pan to start, correct?

I doubt it. Probably a Maxim pan; I believe you'll find the mounting points vastly different.

I swapped my 750 Seca tank with a fellow member for his 650 Maxim tank. No tinkering on my part and according to him, no tinkering on his part for just the tank...
