I seen a similar windscreen in another members thread and decided that I needed one.

I posted on craigslist that I was looking for a Buell Blast windscreen. 2 hours later, I got a call and made plans to pick it up!

I met the seller at Heinz Field, GO STEELERS!, and payed him $35. He was pretty excited to see what I was doing with the XJ. He looked over the bike as we talked about it. Felt kind of good to have a complete stranger show interest and appreciate my bike.

Anyhow, I was pretty pumped about my new purchase so I threw it on real quick, right there in front of the stadium. The ride home was nice. It does noticeably change the airflow too. It certainly doesn't block all the wind which is good. I like the wind in my face. It does however stop the bobble head effects from wind under my helmet! I love it.

That looks to be in really good shape. How's it fit?

Oh man. It is, great shape actually! Not a single blemish. Said he got it a couple years ago for "$40 or something like that" I can't believe I got it for $35.

It fits great too. I popped the headlight out, removed the side bolts and threw it on there. When mounted, it leaves a few inches between the screen and the back of the gauges. Creates a nice little pocket for my gloves.

I was a bit surprised when I realized it wasn't transparent. I guess I just assumed it was a dark tint. No big deal though. Its exactly what I was looking for.

    Thanks again.

It's amazing how one little thing can change the character of your whole bike! Looks good.....and I would have thought it was dark tinted too.

hey i got my windshield today and im a little puzzled as to how to mount it. did yours come with some sort of bracket? any help you could offer would be appreciated. the one i got was off a buell blast 500, 2003 i think.

Check out the 2nd and 3rd pics above in the post. If you look closely, you can see 2 small screw heads on each side of the headlight. That is where the brackets should be.

They mount on using the bolts that hold the housing of the headlight to the brackets. That is why the headlight is hanging out in one of the pics.

Maybe try your local Harley dealer for the parts.

Once you get it mounted, you may have to play with the angle at which you mount it.

    Good luck...
