Hi, my battery was about 1/4 full whith battery acid. I had some battery acid left over from the initial charge, so I topped it off with acid to the low level line and then added distilled water to the upper level line. Did I do wrong by adding acid to an already acid activated battery ? Thanks Tha battery seem to charge pretty good. Just wondering if I did something wrong by adding battery acid. Thanks

Was the battery filled correctly in the first place?
Did acid spill out or "boil" out at some point??

Normally, you ONLY add distilled water.

Do you happen to have a battery acid tester (the syringe with the floating balls?)

You're technically not supposed to do that but I also doubt you caused any damage beyond what had already occurred because of being 3/4 of the way low.

The battery was filled correctly and charged up the very first charge. It lasted all season without a hitch although I didn't check it all season.oop's
I didn't see any battery acid anywhere. It was just low. It seems to have charged all the way now but I do have a tester somewhere. I'll check it Thanks. Just dodn't know if it will HOLD the charge. Thanks again

Tried to test my battery with one of those ball testers. Turned out to be a anti-freeze tester. could'nt figure why the battery was good for 20 degrees.

Fully charge it and take it to the auto parts store and have them load-test it. Then you'll know.

Hope you flush out the anti-freeze tester....it's full of battery acid residue now.........don't want that in your radiator.
