    Hi!

this is my '81 maxim 650. It is my first bike and has been quite a project for me. When I got it it had a HUGE harley fender in the back and the ugliest Apes you've ever seen. It just looked very out of proportion on such a small bke so this is what I've done:

I modded the tank, put on bars, chopped the frame in the back, shortened/lowered the rear fender, made the seat, limp sausage taillight, custom turns, and MAC exhaust.

My current project is rebuilding/jetting the carbs and installing some velocity stacks.

Since these pictures were taken, I moved the rear fender in more and narrowed the seat.

    enjoy!

Sweet lookin ride, I love the dished in tank. How did you do it, cut the sides off and switch them, or hammering in the sides?

I'm impressed with your tasts, looks good. Looks like your right fork seal is starting to leak too. Provo is a very beautiful place, wouldn't mind having a reason to pop out there.

    Looks good Maniac!!
I gotta make my seat like yours, I like it. I am not crazy about the low bars (can't ride foward position because of a bum wrist) but that's one sweet, clean lookin' scoot.

Real nice lookin maxim. Cudos on hammering your tank.

I could see me doing this to my bike but saving my original parts to be able to reverse the mod if I want. Nice job...love it!

Nice! I'd put a front guard on her though (keeps some of the road crap off the block!). Cool scoot for zipping round town!
