What's the reason why you hate NGK plugs so much?

I want to know too. I've never had a problem with them and they come as standard equipment on lots of Japanese bikes.

Why do I hate NGK plugs so much? Mainly because they seem to have the monopoly over here now (some places stock Bosch but that's about it!) so prices are up and quality seems to have gone down the drain. They seem to foul way too easily, they also break down internally and generally don't last like they used to.

It could possibly be to do with ethanol in fuel too, but I doubt it Denso plugs seem fine when I've messed with bikes that had them.

Yes to the Amsoil, yes to the Wix filter, but no to NGK's. I use E3's now and won't be going back.

    Mobil 1 Synthetic bearing grease

Perfect Glass and Never dull for mirrors and chrome

Chain Saver lube for chain (duh) and cables

Re: Favorite consumables for XJs - spark plugs / oil / filte

    Castrol 4T 20W50
    Fram oil filter (new o-rings)
PIAA H4 halogen headlight (if you ride at night, try it)
magnetic secondary fuel filter (tank is treated, though)

I switched from NGK to E3s this spring and that was 2500 miles ago. They're working great so far. Use the comparison chart on the E3 website then go to ebay or amazon to get them. NGKs seemed to burn unevenly with some buildup; E3s show no discoloration at all.

There's only one place to get ethanol free gas around here and it's 20 miles away. Oh well. And I walk to work. Oh well again.
