Plastic Dust Covers

    On my 1985 XJ 700N Can any one tell me how you keep the Plastic Dust covers down. Is there someting missing on the covers there is a slot on the cover which looks like someting should be in there to hold them down or do they just sit on the rubber dust seal. So when you ride they come up & down on the tub.
