decided kinda last minute to take the bike to washington dc this weekend!!

another spur of the moment kinda thing much like cali was, it should be a blast!

this time the lady will be coming, so that should be fun too!

leaving within the hour hopefully, got the bike all ready to rock last night, threw on some crash bars and hwy pegs, adj the valves (more on that later) replaced the gear lube in the final drive, threw in some new plugs, and mounted up a new rear tire at the shop after work today as yet again burned thru another one! hell i only put the last one on in june! but i do suppose that was in washington state lol.

anyway, ill try posting some pics, keep warm weather in your thoughts and thanks for the positive vibes!

I'm in MD out near antietam battlefield. If you have any trouble let me know. I've got garage space and the tools needed to fix anything.

Now we're at an oasis, just letting the eyes get a little nap, then probably get back on the road for a bit more till we find a place to grab a bite to eat.

Hit a few stretches of some pretty crazy rain, brought everyone down to about 35mph on the interstate for a good 30 mins and then sped up to about 45 for a while more. Thankful for putting on that new tire that's for sure.

Looks like an awesome trip so far! maybe if the goverment reopens you could get to see some of the attractions. Im still trying to get my wife to go for a ride with me even around town. she always thinks that the bike is going to break down and then we both will be stuck some where. i would love to take a road trip someday, hopefully next year maybe to sturgis with a friend of mine.

I ntoiced that there is an ipod charger cord coming off your bike from the left side cover, did you wire in a "car charger port" or something to have aux power? was it difficult? i could see that being very useful on long trips

Yeah, I use it to charge my iPhone but it works for iPods too. Actucually what I did was on the blade style fuse box that I wired in, I had an extra spot in it, so I just ran a couple jumpers off a set of wires that were only live when the key is in the "on" position, and then wired in a cigarette lighter plug tht I just leave under the seat. Then whenever I go on long trips I have a 6ft cord that I run under the seat and then to wherever I have my phone, which is usually in my front left pocket with the volume controls near the outer top, so I can adjust the volume or mute my music easily with my thumb when I need to hear better or am in town or through tolls, etc.

It's pretty nifty and was super easy to do. Ill throw up a picture or two when I get home
