    Hi All,
The top portion of the fork has been removed also. (valve, spacer, washer, and spring.

I got the forks off, the chrome cover ring, the rubber cap, the clip, and now, how do I get the seal out?

I went to harbor freight and bought a cheap seal puller. It pops them out quick and no damage to your forks.

A small piece of wood and a flat blade screwdriver. Put the wood between the screwdriver and the fork body to protect it. Pry.

Of course the upper fork tube has to be removed if you didn't know that. There is a hex head on top of the damper rod deep inside the fork tube. Then another smaller hex head bolt at the bottom of the lower fork leg. I used a sparkplug socket turned around backwards with it's 19mm hex at the end. Attached this to two 1 foot extensions and used an allen wrench on the lower fork leg bolt. Loosen these and remove the bolt and the fork tube will come out of the lower fork leg. Then you will have access to the seal. Remove the steel clip that holds the seal in. "Gently" prying the seal out with a screwdriver is one suggestion and I have done it but you have to be extremely careful not to damage the outer fork leg. Easiest way is to use a three prong puller on a slide hammer. Auto Zone will loan you one for free.

If you are talking about the plug at the top of the fork tube, I use an old socket extension and hammer to tap the plug back down in the tube. The spring will force it back up. You may have to do it a few times and it should pop out. Its always worked for me.

    I'm a bit lost.
The tube that slided up and down must be removed first?

That's Ok, I found a way. It endded up pretty easy.
    Thanks all.
BlueMaxim - I used the socket, I heated a PVC pipe and inserted into the socket. It took the shape of the socket and held it really good.
