Should there be a harness clamp on the triple tree?

Well, I finally got around to tearing down the front end of the 550 a couple weeks ago, to check the steering head bearings and replace the fork springs and oil, and I noticed something:

The two main wiring harnesses that snake up into the headlight had pulled out slightly (from gravity and movement) and had, over time, filled the sheath with water. Fortunately, all the wiring is good so I had no short-outs or anything.

Now that it's all dried out, I want to make sure I secure the harnesses so the sheath end stays in the headlight.

I noticed that the front face of the lower triple tree (the lower bracket where the fork tubes clamp into) has two tapped holes, looking like the perfect spot for a wiring harness clamp. Should there have been one there? There hasn't been in the five years we've owned the bike.

I know I can fabricate a clamp out of a piece of steel, but do you know of anything off-the-shelf that would work?

 

My 550 has never had a clamp. The wiring harness usually just loose but is fixed inside the headlight bucket with twisty wire bits attached to the inside of the bucket.
