Been all over town looking for a fuse block, and finally gave up.
Decided to troll the interweb for a solution.
    Here it is:

    http://www.wiringproducts.com/index.htm ... lang=en-us

The last place I looked was a $50 min order, but this place took my order for only one.
They are just under $7 + shipping (and tax if you live in Nevada).
They also feature a nice dust cover.

I'll post how things turn out.

I'll keep you posted Jazzmoose, but I've found slower delivery getting stuff across the border!
You learn patience on one hand, but wonder when to start asking questions on delivery!

    Nick,

    They have a 1 800 number.
It was on my "reciept" email.
You could call them..... to check on your order.
If you specified cheapo shipping, it will probably take a while.
Let me know if you need the #.
I'll probably call them tomorrow, squeaky wheel and all.

Thanks, Nachoman! I believe I told them to go the cheapo shipping. If I remember correctly they use UPS for international, and I told them not to. UPS charged me 30.00 for brokerage fees on the last and only shipment I used with them.

Why the issues sending parts north, eh? What could possibly cost $30 in fees? That was postage right? I ordered a whole front end off a turbo (rims, forks, tree, clusters, fender) from a fellow in BC, shipped to Southern California was about $40.

Depends on who is shipping Robert, the postal system goes thru without any major addon fees for the most part. Sometimes I get stuck with duty and taxes, but not too often. UPS shipments add brokerage fees, but UPS doesn't deliver up here, it's handed over to another courier and it could be their "brokerage" fees to make more money from us??? Dunno for sure !

I was informed today that the AF-CFB6 ATO/ATC fuse block from Wiring Products that I ordered on March 21, 2006, has "been out of stock from the factory. We have an ETA of April 11 for receiving them".

Curious if you got yours Nachoman?

Well I found some other sources for fuse blocks.
This guy on ebay has hundreds of them.
Here is one of his item listings, you can go from there.
    http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayI ... AMEWA%3AIT
These require the use of spade connectors on the bottom.

Painless wiring makes one that is crimp or solder connections.
Part #30002 (prf-30002 at summit racing)
It has gold plated parts, but no dust shield.

Either one is probably a good source, and reliable.
If I don't hear back from the original guys, I'll probably order the painless unit from summit and hard wire it.

Well, I ended up ordering the painless wiring unit from summit racing.
I will be installing it tomorrow.
It looks straight foward enough, and should go easily.
    I will keep you posted.

    Sorry for the late update...
I ended up ordering the Painless Wiring unit from summit racing. It arrived in a short time, and it works great. However it may not fit under the seat on a XJ with the stock airbox, as it is quite tall. I have the pod filters so instead of the airbox, I fashioned a plate which runs from the back of the battery box to the back of the electronics plate. I mounted the fuseblock there along with the oil breather. I will try to take some pics, as it looks pretty slick and may help someone out. As stated above the block does not seal, so I filled it with dielectric grease after soldering it all together.

On a side note, the fuse block from the origional source did show up eventually. It has a cover with an o-ring seal. However the seal is inaffectual because the bottom of the block is wide open... The communication from them was non-exhistant, and the shipping charge was exorbitant. The block seems pretty nice, and would definitely fit under the seat on a stock airbox though.

Sounds like the one I got Nacho, from wiringproducts.com. I thought it was strange to have an o-ring sealed lid, but the bottom was wide open.

I decided to cut squares of paper to cover each opening ( to act as a seal ) then I filled the bottom with 5 minute epoxy. Figured that otta fix it!

You could also use RTV. I'm planning a custom plexiglass box of my own design that will incorporate the blade fuse block coupled with an LED powered by an independent nicad battery so I'll always have a light even if I forget my flashlight. The trick I haven't hammered out yet is how to get a good seal on the lid, which will be screwed shut. I'm thinking of a sheet of rubber, but then you can't see into the box, bummer! I examined routing a channel on the edge of the box and laying in a coil of silicone piping, but ensuring complete coverage in the corners is proving to be very difficult. I may have to escavate by hand. I will be taking pictures of the process and will post as soon as it is complete.

Sorry to resurrect this thread, but I have a 6-circuit fuse block laying around made by Bussman 15600 series. Problem is it has a stud for power input and then 6 blade style outputs from the fuses. After looking at the wiring diagram in my Clymer manual it looks like I can use this to replace my stock fuse block. The main fuse will have the battery feed to the stud, through the 20A fuse then off to the red wire. The other 3 circuits I can connect the load side to the blades after the fuse. The other sides of them are tied together and are connected to the Alternator, and when the key is turned to ON, they are connected to the battery feed anyway, so I think I can just put the 4 feeds on the stud and the other sides after the fuses. Can anyone confirm this? I would rather do this than have to try and find another fuse block somewhere that will work out since I already have this one.

Doesn't work. Everything functions as long as the battery is connected...so looks like I will be buying a fuse block. Hopefully I can find one locally and not have to go online for one.

    Thanks

Yeah well the 7 dollar fuse block ended up 18 after shipping. Not to happy about that but they don't have anywhere that say how much they charge for shipping
