Rick, the article (and the whole site, for that matter) is a great wealth of information for all of us XJ'ers. Good find.

SOme very good information i both those article and while generally they are both factually correct there are some differences between them that still leaves one guessing.

    Eg, Ricks article.

    While Nicks article.

    Decrease jet size equals lean.

So which gives more power??? Rich or Lean???

IMO lean is more power as it runs hotter. Heat produces power. Rich on the other hand can result in too much fuel in the chamber. Not burning properly and wasting the spark and passing most of the fuel out the pipes.

The key of course is getting the perfect mix.

But, I would recommend these articles to all to gain a better understanding of how the CV's work.

Both a bit of a long read, but worth it.

Ricks took me only half an hour.
    Great read btw.
Getting less carbo-phobic by the day.

Nicks is next on the list.

Those statments about the lean vs rich through me off too.
Lean seems to give a bit more acceleration imo
