Its been a couple of years since I've used one of these and I'm embarassed to say I don't have to slightest idea of how to do even the simplest of tasks such as checking continuity.
So a little crash course from the experts would help. I've got a little digital pocket multimeter with the wires attached (the ones we used to use you could plug the wires into different slots).
Thanks

I simply Googled How to use a multimeter and got a heap of hits.
I'd suggest this link.
www.youtube.com/watch?v=KzjMIcER4EU
They are funny and informative.
Lots more where that came from.

Perhaps we should compile a list of common electrical tests done on XJ's and post the set ups and procedures for others to use. There's nothing like seeing it done to assure you you've tested it correctly.
- How to test the coil
- How to test the plug caps
- How to test the head light relay
Component testing like that. Feel free to add to the list and we'll see what can be put together.

Sounds like a good idea for the FAQ section.
