If the gas cap leaks fuel this usually means that you have over filled the petrol tank. The fuel in the tank will expand to a certain extent when the tank warms up and therefore may flood out through the cap if you have not allowed room for this to happen.

I'm woundering how owners deal with hard gas cap rubber seals. How do they fix this problem. Thanks for the info. Im aware of expansion.

I ordered a replacement gasket for my bike last year because the rubber was cracked- but no, gas should NEVER leak out of your tank. If it does, you've over filled it.

Ordered one from Zanoitti motors. If you have the part #, it's quite easy just to order the replacement gasket seal. You don't need an entire new gas cap. Sounds like someone was feeding you a line.

Thanks I will try to track it down I'm in the D/FW area of Texas, Its a sham dealers wont help any more than they do here.
