pianomangg - August 7, 2005 07:16 PM (GMT)
Ed was talking about a clinic for Aug 20/21. Anybody know if it's still a go? And where?

Hi Tom,
Managed to get in touch with Ed last week. Guess the CCC is a bust this year due to lack of interest. Suppose that's good news as I assume it means everyone's bike is in excellent running order!
Are you near/in Calgary? Went out to Kananaskis on Sunday before the bad weather came in. Awesome run!

Hi GG,
Bummer about the CCC, my Maxim is running well...since I used a colortune plug to set it up...but it would have been nice to meet some other xj'ers.
I live in Calgary, and Kananaskis is a fantastic ride...beautiful country. Went golfing there a few days back...a little cold. Should be nice this weekend, highs in the 20's again.
I own a 84 Maxim 750, yes you read it correctly 1984! Try getting parts for this thing, where ever I seem to go to get parts they tell me "no such bike"...until I give them the serial number (frame starts with 22T) then they have to "do some digging". The production date is Oct 83, so Yamaha must of had some extra parts and just kept on making them, until they ran out.
What do you ride?

Live in SW Calgary, and ride the 750 you see pictured at the left. It's my second 750 Seca, having a red '82 as my first bike.
http://www.geocities.com/pianoman_gg/I guess you could say the '81 is a work-in-progress. There's a fair number of XJer's in, and around, Calgary and they've been extremely good about lending a hand with my Seca's ever-present list of problems <tip of the hat to Ed Reddy and Jeff Hiley> I dropped off the XJ radar for almost 10 months because life was getting in the way. I was a member of the XJ Owners mailing list for close to 3 years, but I like this format much better... doesn't fill my inbox and I can read messages wherever.
Ed was talking about putting together an XJ gathering in September. I think we deserve a nice, hot September after the stuff we've been putting up with for the past couple weeks.

Just waiting to get my wife schedule before we do a September CCC. Hopefully we'll find out this weekend! :)

I have a XJ550 Seca and live in north Calgary. I would love to be involved in a Carb Clinic. I have a Morgan Carbtune I could bring and would love to try a colourtune on my bike.
See you XJer's soon.
