Hi Chevy454,
I see you on the XS11 forum too (I assume that's you?)
My buddy has a '85 Maxim XJ 700 which he is repairing after a skidding accident last fall. He has no computer so I'm tyring to help him locate parts. We found pegs and turn signals, but he still needs handlebars and a speedometer, neither of which are available from Yamaha. Do you have either item or know of any sources?
Thanks
Rick, aka fxrer

sorry i don't ,the parts i have are for 1100maxim, the bars and gauges would have been different anyway, Thanks for the reply.

hey check into the 84 -91 i think verago's they are just about the same baike as the xj700 maxim in style i know they use the same speedo/tach/fusebox/headlight/tail light/seat/tank/wheels/fenders/ basicly i belive everything but the frame and motor are the same hope that helps. i am also restoring a xj700 that has been laid down softly. as far as bars go tho i think any aftermarket bars that feel good on the bike should be the ones your friend gets.

Hi Chevy,
Have you got a transmission? If so, would you be willing to part with the selector forks if they are in very good condition?
Thanks,
Dave.

I recently bought a XJ900RK (off E-Bay) - it's pretty good shape but I want to fix up a few things. The biggest thing is the exhaust pipes - it looks like somebody pulled the chrome off them. The collector and muffers are fine. I thought about using parts from other XJ's. Does the pipes from a 750 fit a 900? Do you have anything like that? If not, do you know of a good place to pick up a set? Thanks

sorry 900 mine are pretty crappie also. the back part looks ok but the down tubes are pretty rusted. As far as were to go ,i'd check like dennis kirk j.c. whiney or even a bike bone yard if you got any near.

Thanks Chevy! I might try a set from another year/model XJ (a Seca 750 is a good candidate) - I think they're all about the same. If not, I guess I can try to have mine fixed or buy a chrome header (although I don't want to mess with the carbs). One other area I am looking at is hard-shell saddlebags. Any recomendations? Thanks again.
