I just picked up a used Yamaha 750 SECA with 29K klms on it. I was able to rdie for a total of one week before the idle seemed to be hunting. I checked the rubber manifolds and found a rather large crack in one of the interior manifolds. With the loss of vacuum, I am concerned about the mixture being seriously affected and overheating a cylinder.
I did not receive an owners manual with the bike and am wondering if there is a manual out there looking for a home (I live in Canada, Saskatoon, SK).
Also, in changing the manifold, any idea as to the size of the job? In looking at the set-up, I am guessing the carbs have to be pulled. Does that require the tank to be pulled as well or is there an easier way of accessing the manifold?
Thanks
Darrell
splat some high temp silicon rubber in there for the time being.
Will be a replacement item when yuo have the time and money.
Tank and carbs will have to come off, both pretty easy.
I sent you an email. I live only 130 km away and have some for you. Yay!
When you replace old boots do you see better fuel milage?
Mine are old and I haven't brought new ones... I was thinking about just replacing them to improve gas mileage and as a bit of preventative maint.
I guess the best mileage improvement would be to take it easy with the right hand ;)
