hi guys new to this forum .i have a 1989 xj 900 and need to change the fork seals could anyone tell me how to get any information on how to proceed with this.got new seals and fresh oil just got to do the job.

I know it's obvious, but the forks need to come off and be dismantled. My best suggestion is to invest in a manual. I bought mine at Amazon.com for less than 20 bucks. The whole process is described and illustrated.

I went out and did it the hard way,learn as you go.Will still need to buy a manual for all the oil levels and so on .the bike is ready for the road now just need some good weather,still a bit cold here in Scotland.

Glad it went well. Some fork tubes can be a bear to cap by yourself if the springs fight back. Chilly and wet here too...neee more rain to wash the sand off the roads.
