    I wonder of he's alive.

+1 on wearing helmets, I always wear my full face, even though I don't have to even wear one at all

Not saying it didn't happen but I haven't ever seen anyone slide long enough with their head resting in one spot to do half that damage to their helmet

You'd need a reasonable amount of weight pressing down on it too

I'm with Kickaha. Someone may have crashed in that helmet but then it looks like they had some fun with a belt sander. Seen a lot of helmets that had been ground on the pavement but never anything near the single point slide that would have been needed to create that.

    I agree.

I wear one. Theres plenty of danger without crashing. If you take a june bug to the face at 70 mph, it's gonna be a major distraction.

Helmets are important and should always be worn, but look at that angle...you'd almost have to be doing a headstand while sliding to create that kind of rash.
Doesn't change the impact of the visual...Wear your helmet!

It probably fell off his trailer and got dragged by the strap that was supposed to be holding it on.

That's the only time I've seen damage like that; in my case it was a whole snowmobile...

Not a real accident pic. That was either wedged under something and dragged in the same position for bit, or was cut open on a band saw, though it's a little rough for a decent bandsaw to do................

At any rate, there wasn't a head in it at the time..........................

I always wear a helmet. But that damage can't be from an accident. And if it was.... the guy wouldn't have survived any kind of situation that would put that much force against the helmet for long enough to wear it down like that.
    His neck would have broken.

I always wear a full face when on the street, mainly I don't like the taste of bugs. but it may also save my brain someday.
