Does anyone have pics showing repaired cracked intakes? I'm mulling the ideas I found here on the forums. Mine are starting to look like a dry lake bed.

(Yeah I know I could spend a quarter grand on four new ones, but my assets haven't liquefied yet)

Are you going to do the bicycle inner tube fix?

You're supposed to buy parts like this from E-Bay in January when nobody is looking and some bozo lists them for $0.99 no RSV.

I asked the same question and someone (I think it was here) suggested to get some liquid tape. I'd never heard of it but found it at the local hardware & it's black gunk, sort of like liquid plastic and has an applicator brush. My cracks were not all the way through but they had some depth to them and this stuff filled them in perfectly and it's black so it's the same color as the manifolds themselves.

    Works perfectly.

These have the mountain bike inner tube repair.

When I started there was loads of RTV sealant smeared all over them and i feared the worst. When I managed to clean it off, the rubbers were in good condition just with a small cut where the clamps had dug in. They were as tight as they could be so I used the extra rubber to give more adjustment. I fixed the bands in place with a thin coating of RTV.

Thanks for the responses, guys. I think I'll try the liquid tape first. I can always cover it up with the inner tube later if it doesn't work out.

Still trying to score a good set.

I suggest liquid gasket maker. You can find it at most hardware stores (ACE usually has it). I'm sure its similar to the electrical tape method. You just rub it in to the cracks. But you really have to rub it in, massage it. Bend the manifolds a little bit so the cracks open up, and rub the stuff in there. When you let it back to normal it will ooze out the cracks. You can also smear it on the outside just in case there are any small cracks or anything. Then just let them dry for a few days, take some steel wool, and go take off all the extra. Repeat the process if necessary. They'll be good as new.

This has been the cheapest and most effective way I've found.
I'll try taking some pictures of the process next time I get around to it.
