Just a quick question for anybody who has done their fork seals. I was just looking over the how to on the XJ cd for changing my fork seals, and it said that there is a special tool required, the front fork cylinder comp. holder. Is this really necessary? Or can I make do with something else?

    Thanks
    Bob

this is from a search I found using google. and the answer to your question is NO. I haven't even seen anybody use that special tool Yamaha refers to. you'll have to make a tool for the job. its difficult for me to explain so I'm sure someone else will explain it better than me
