So finally getting around to replacing the level sight glass in the master cylinder on the Seca. Tired of looking at the blue Permatex redneck fix.

My question is what kind of paint would be best for repainting it? Thanks!

And yes, it's also getting new innards as long as I have it apart.

Over the winter I used brake caliper paint. The flat black looked ok on the MC but as usual, any brake fluid on the paint and it will remove quite quickly.

Anything that comes out of a spray can will wash right off with brake fluid. You need a 2 part system with a hardner rather than an evaporative coating.

I suspect the original was a powder coat.

Why not strip it and leave it on raw aluminium? My '95 Honda Magna came out of the factory not painted and it looks perfect.
