    Thank you! I was getting frustrated off the rats nest that was there from PO, and this helped a lot to redo it and get it running reliably. :D

    No problem, I finally got mine down to what I need left ans am in the process of re-taping everything, the pictures helped me alot.

    Why is this a minimum wiring diagram, and not just a wiring diagram? What is missing here that a stock wiring configuration has?

    not that I know of but it is just power - flasher - switch - split from each side of the switch to front and back - ground.

    I had the second diagram already and have been looking at it so I can get my wiring right on my bike. Just printed out the top diagram which will make it much easier! Thanks!

    Would you know how to wire front brakes to work the taillights? I have two wires coming from the master cylinder but don't know what was running to it when I removed the fish finder. Right now, I just use rear brakes to warn behind me . Thanks

    On my '83 XJ750RK Seca, those two wires are for the brake-fluid-level sensor. The original front brake light switch is located at the right-handlebar brake lever.

    edit to add: To simplify the handlebar wiring, you can buy a hydraulic brake-light switch and mount it in-line between the master cylinder and the calipers. That can be connected to the brake light circuit in parallel, just like the original.

    brake switch should be built into the lever and is a push button switch. the wiring for it is in the diagram. power - split to foot brake and handle brake switches - bring them back together to the brake light - ground.

    I think that after I removed stock master cylinder, and put one on the handlebars something is different, I believe I will go with the pressure switch banjo bolt. There was one on eBay for $20

    One thing I ran into with these diagrams is that on my 81' maxim the starter button returns the ground to the solenoid. I tried to eliminate the starter switch and put in an ignition. No go on these bikes. Also the taillight and brake light need to be grounded to the frame as well. Just what I have found doing my simple wiring.

    anyone know how to do this and add just the dummy lights and turn signals? i want to get rid of the monitoring and stuff, but i dont know if that will negate the use of the dummy lights.

    Which 'dummy' lights are you trying to run? Specifically. I eliminated everything from upfront except speedo, headlight, horn and ignition. Thinking about adding turn signals upfront but at a later date.

    When I removed my dashboard, I kept the harness instead of running new wires and removed the pieces, so I still have the neutral wires Etc. Not sure if you want to do it that way, or if they still work without going through the computer but its worth a shot.
