I stuck my wiring and battery in together..... the regulator is fixed underneath the 'battery' box. Wiring to the rear light travels down a dedicated tube just under the frame. I would love to rip out the wiring and start again as it has been the source of many issues but not got the courage yet!

That looks great! Did you vent the can so the regulator can get cooled off.? It doesn't take much heat buildup to kill the voltage regulator. Is there a grommet for the hole that the wiring goes through?

Hey guys, Has anyone here connected the ignition switch directly to the main loom? My XJ has connected to the big square instrument cluster which i need to throw away and install something small. If anyone has moved the ignition switch to another location with connection made to the main loom please post pics. It will be a big help for me.
    Thanks!!!

I drew inspiration from thejewishguy's coffee can and used two grease cans from Walmart to hide the rest of my wiring. This is the Cliff notes version, but there are more details at the thread in my signature.

Thanks! It's the universal linkage kit available from TC Bros. I went ahead and got it along with the controls.

Is this a pretty easy thing to do? I saw it said it takes some fabricating and i don't know how much that means lol. I don't wanna do too much fabrication to the bike.

If you have a hack saw, a decent set of metal drill bits (and a drill of course) and maybe a bench vise, then it's pretty easy. Oh, a big hammer helps, too - for bending the shift lever if needed. The fabrication you have to do is chopping and drilling your original shift lever and brake lever so that you can bolt the linkage onto/into them. You also need to cut the linkage to the length you need for your setup. Everything else is bolt-on.

    Here's my "after" pictures.
