Different handlebars, or is that just how they look with covers off?

... but which movie? those bars don't look original, although I've never seen a set myself.

The bars look like the stock Cadmium plated ones - - don't touch any cadmium plated parts, as it replaces Zinc in your body and never comes out. It's a poison.

That was a Super 16 film camera. Early 90's. I shot bicycle chase scenes running down Blood Mountain in N. Georgia for the movie Mobius which was mostly released overseas. Super 16 cams are still big, too big for a helmet.

Drones seem to be the wave of the future in filming. The FAA just gave the green light for movie makers to use drones. Lots of regulations of course. Person operating it needs to be a licensed pilot and so forth. But a lot cheaper than using helicopters and better for closer proximity. Don't know about a car or motorcycle chases yet. Most likely too slow for those type of scenes.

So when I was using a remotely triggered still camera on my remote control airplane in the 80's I was breaking FAA regs? Oops....

LOL, I had always wanted one of those rocket cameras back in the Seventies. I think either Etes or Century offered them. Funny enough, there are really not much in the way of laws for the general public. The restrictions were geared towards Hollywood. Here is some clips I pieced together with my son's new drone. If you look to the left of the house there is a tree where I had to climb up 40' to retrieve it at one point  My neighbor came out once she noticed some idiot up in tree, LOL.

Not bad for $65 bucks. I think I may get one for myself that has the GPS guidance and homing features.

They clearly have a yellow tinge to them - - they are not chrome.

The stock handlebars are zinc-plated aluminum and have a bunch of mounting tabs for the covers.

It's GOLD I tell ya, doesn't look like Zinc, on my '81 RH
(and a magnet sticks to it)

Ok. Zinc (maybe Cadmium) plated steel (I checked the bent set that are hanging on my garage wall). Zinc plating comes in several colors, just as Cadmium plating does.

I just noticed this. Exposure to cadmium fumes is toxic (which is why cadmium electroplating is nearly impossible to have done in the U.S. anymore). Handling cadmium plated parts is entirely safe.

So, just to be clear, those are stock bars, just had the covers removed? Looks a shit-ton better than with the covers on!

Search Youtube for Blood mountain and you will see a lot of videos of guys running it on bikes and cars. It may be the single best 12 miles of road in the USA because it's two lanes most of the way up and gives you a racetrack-wide stripe of great asphalt to play with. Sadly, lots of moto-deaths on that mountain. It has a major decreasing-radius curve that fools a lot of riders. So it was a natural fit for the bicycle chase scene in that movie.

Don't trust the color on that scanned photo. They were very shiny and silver and steel so I assumed chrome.

Correct on both points. The cover and fairing went right back on after the shoot.

Bike was rigged in Atlanta, then trailered to Blood Mountain, 90 miles away, did the shoot which took all day, then trailered back to ATL. So I never got to ride in traffic.
