Is there such thing as too many motorbikes?

Okay, had to make it an even dozen...picked this one up today for $300. It had sat in a guy's garage for 15 years. It even came with the original tool kit and owner' manual. The goofy looking "custom" back rack will go... IMG_7685.JPG

    Thanks Toomanybikes.

I was lucky enough to catch this one early. It does look nice and has the original paint (not faded) and it had the registration papers. It will have the typical problems that a bike has from sitting for so long. i.e. clogged carb, rusty tank, stuck calipers, dead battery, bad oil, gooey brake fluid. I'll check the brakes and go through all the maintenance routines, but I think it'll be a nifty bike. It has 16,000 kms on it (about 10,000 miles), so the motor should be in fairly good shape.

    Thanks XJRider92117

Sometimes these little gems come up and you can be quick enough to get to them first. An old Scottish guy was selling this one, it was a two hour drive to get it, but worthwhile (well, I'll see once I've cleaned the carbs and see if it runs okay)

I'm heading off to the Paris Rally/swap meet next weekend with a few spare coins in my pocket and an empty pickup truck...

I can't help it, it's a law of physics: "a truck box must be filled"...er, was that something about a "vacuum"...

It has been confirmed that two Viragos are coming my way this fall. I had to ask the wife first.
She reminded me that the garage had no more space for motorcycles :(
Then she though I should get a bigger shed built :)
    She might be a keeper.

Nice! Definite "Keeper" K-Moe. You'll have to share some pictures of those Viragos when you get them.

Keeper: A wife that suggests you build a new shed so you can have room for more motorcycles.

It's not the "one" part that's the problem, it's the "ish". If I had a runner to go with Project Someday, all would be good.

    Aaah! Now I understand "ish".

Next time I see a good deal around Cornwall, I'll post it (if I haven't scurried off to snag it first :))

I picked up two XJs (one for $250, one for $200) and a '65 Honda S65 ($500) in Montreal this past year.

You can buy them in Quebec in good shape if they have lost the paperwork. Quebec makes it tough to register a bike without a registration, but it's (fairly) easy in Ontario.

    Just a tip I thought I'd share.
