Mid-Ohio Swap Meet, AMA Vintage days - July 10,11,12 2015 I'm going. Anyone else?

Hi fellow xj'ers,

I heard of this meet just a couple of months ago, and I'm planning on heading down for the entire weekend. I hear it is quite the event.

Anyone else heading to this event?

I'm forcing myself to go this year. Last year I backed out because I didn't want to go by myself. This year: no excuse.

Besides, it's practically in my back yard.

 

Taku, if you're taking I90 through PA, look me up. We could get together for something to eat and an adult beverage.

I'm considering heading down from ontario too, taku.

 

I might go depending on work schedule. It's about an hour and a half west of me. I'm in the NE corner of Ohio off of I90.

 

Great, sounds like a few of us will make it. As I mentioned, I've never been to this event and I'm really looking forward to it.

Has anyone camped there before? Do you have to book ahead or is there plenty of room?

Ah, I was just looking at the map, it does look like I'll be passing through PA.

 

last time i went we took two lane all the way out and four lane back. the four lane had enough radar to cook a hot dog.
just a heads up, if you plan on staying at a motel anywhere near there, make reservations yesterday.

Shotar, Geneva on the Lake is having a bike rally Sept. 10-13. Can you make it?
Taku, as it gets closer, I'll send you a message with my number. There's a nice little restaurant right off the interstate. Maybe we can meet there.

 

I just looked that up on a map, it's not that far from where I live (relatively that is). Just have to put my bike in a canoe and make it across lake ontario first, them I'm home free

It gets really lonely here in Erie. I was so desperate last year, I met up with Polock. (Just kiddin', dude.)

 

I am on the west side of Ohio but that is my old stomping grounds lol I know I am going for sure

Bump bump. Less than a week! I'm planning on being there Saturday. I've never been before - anyone have a meetup spot to suggest?

 

My son and I are heading out late tonight, we'll be in Ohio in the wee hours of the morning (about 2 or 3 am). Post here if you have a place to get together. Looking forward to the swap meet and meeting up with a few XJers.

Sorry for the late reply. Can't make it this year. New job. Couldn't make Hogfiddle's for the same reason.

And now I won't be going either. I can't get the bike to start, and it's leaking fuel all over when I try. I can fix it, but it won't be today.

 

I guess I'll be be getting all the good XJ parts all to myself! Haha.

 

Poor Taku. All alone in a land of parts...

 

Game is back on! I thought I didn't have any tubing long enough to replace to fuel line, but I did. She's running now while I wash the gas off my hands.

 

Well, Taku, I guess I missed you. I went by your site a couple of times but it didn't look like you were there. I sat with the "Yamaha 650 Society" a few sites down from you for a bit though. Nice bunch of guys that ride XS650s. I'm headed back home, cause I didn't bring a tent. Maybe I'll catch you next year.

Yeah, I had no idea it was a no-seriously-you-can-ride-your-bike-everywhere kinda place. That was awesome.

I did! Packed it full of parts I needed for my project bikes. Bought a few tools as well and a souvenir T-Shirt of course.

There were so many bikes and parts it was crazy, good thing I left a day early otherwise I'd have picked up another bike (I hear the prices are marked down on the last day).

There were a few XJ parts there, tanks, fenders even side covers. I couldn't find side covers for my 82 Seca XJ750 though, but I wasn't able to get through the entire swap meet vendor booths. The event is huge.

I even found an engine for my 1965 Honda S65.

That was great fun, I'm definitely going back next year.

 

Thinking next year wear a go pro camera and stream it live and we can ask you to buy stuf as you go.. Lol would be funny to yell STOP I need that part!! No go left no your other left
