Since i finished my maxim back in March things just keep happening and i don't get to ride it. I feel so bad for it i do start her up. I had a few things i needed to finish around the house back in June july worked a few days on work i am doing for someone. Bought a pretty rare 1st year 72 suzuki gt380 got it home went to kick start it smashed my leg ended up in the hospital with an infection. Have to keep it elevated. My brother got really sick had to take him to the er 3 times in 2 weeks last time he was in for a week. Unfortunately all that time back and forth to the hospital did my leg no good at all. It now has another infection in it. I have had a open wound bigger then a silver dollar on my leg now for almost 40 days where the infection is i can see the tendons must be over 10mm deep hole it will not heal because of the infection. I am on antibiotics waiting to find out if its gram positive or neg might have to change anti antibiotics. I have put 6 miles on the maxim since it has been done and it is not looking like i will get to ride it in Sept spent the whole darn summer nursing my leg and i just want to get it over i hate sitting and doing nothing. Funny part is my dr wants me to go to wound care to get it to heal faster next appointment available is 2.5 weeks away.I could go to another facility but it is over 2 hours away and when i go they are gonna want me to come back 2 or 3 times a week not feasible . All i want to do is be able to ride and get back to normal before it gets 2 cold to ride again. It is hardly worth paying insurance total miles i put on the bikes in the last year is 20. I also have 3 other projects that need to be finished 1535.jpg 1535.jpg 82 seca.jpg 230.jpg 1551.jpg 82 seca.jpg 230.jpg 1551.jpg

Cutlass, sorry to hear about your string of bad luck. I would be going nuts also, nothing worse than being separated from your passion.

Here's to sending some healing energy your way so you can get back to enjoying your motorcycles. :)

Great looking bikes, you do fine detail work! What kind of infection do they suspect? Best of luck healing up and hope there's plenty of good riding weather when you're better.

It's a bummer not riding. Having a wound like that is nasty but make sure you take DR. Word and make sure you do all the steps. Had a nasty break about 10 years ago. Fibula and 180 degree compound of the foot ( it looked sick) on one of the smallest bikes I have owned going 12 miles an hour.years back and prognosis was 75% mobility ... But masterful surgeon did a super job and I followed instructions to the letter. Took almost a year but it's 100% now.
Is age or any other condition causing this not to heal ? Saw the other pics you posted when you tried to start the bike with your shin. Yuck McNasty!!

Thanks everyone they did a wound culture and put me on a really strong antibiotic. I have to be very careful for 10 days besides all the side effects it can cause tendon problems so i am basically off my feet. Sure hope this does the trick. Basically all the antibiotics they put in me at the hospital killed all the good bacteria in my gut and got an infection Thanks Gwinnett Medical Center for making my life living H__
