Wanted xj/xs 1100

xj/xs 1100 for my next rebuild, some compression, but non running/sitting ok New mexico or nearby

how much would you be asking for it

 

Doesn't run at the moment, needs a new battery and carbs gone through and the second gear fix (which I have all the parts for plus extra stuff) $750
This is a complete bike and the last time I had it running everything worked , brakes , lights, charging system. It has a chrome 4 into 1 exhaust that sounded real nice plus it was real fast.

 

What's the second gear fix?

Ive got one in Indiana, 300 bucks with title.
Its getting raided for parts for the other one in the background.
Itll be missing calipers and carb bits at the moment.

 

I could buy a battery and pull the carbs and have this one running in about three hours. But I would need more money for it and it would be road ready if someone wanted to have me do that they could fly in here and ride it home.
I would make sure everything is up for a long ride, but the new perspective owner would need to work that out with me and there would be a shipment of spare parts that we would need to deal with.

a reputable bike shipper in your area so I could get a clear idea of what the cost of shipping and packing would be to get the bike to
me in Santa Fe New Mexico. The total cost,the bike from you plus the shipping cost would be pre requisite for the deal. I will also

You could try these guys out but I don't know of any reputable shippers.
The bike for 300 bucks needs everything gone thru, itll be missing parts, but the motor turns over with compression.
It did run for a short time before the previous owner got over zealous with ether and it caught fire for a few short minutes.

 

The nice thing about the one I have is it is complete and with a little TLC it could be a great bike.
I bought it from a guy that was a friend of the first 1100 I bought. They thought it would be better
to have a collector like me to fix it up and find a home vs just parting it out. I'm not saying there are not
a bunch of these out there but nice rebuildable ones are getting harder to find. Most have suffered
the PO syndrome are are in tough shape that would require parts hunting and mucho boku to get back on the road.
Missing parts and worn damaged parts are usally the problem and few people would have the money and passion to
restore these bikes.

 

Did any of the wiring in the starter,alternator, or stator in the side of the engine burn up? What's your zip? so I can get a quote from

It was only on fire for a few minutes or seconds.
Everything is intact on the wiring.

Someone should put a flame job on the tank now. haha
