A guy in th UK built a beatiful 550 seca using Thundercat parts (swinging arm and wheels - possibly even forks). It involved a mono-shock conversion so was quite a bit of work - but it did have a rear disc ! It was featured in Practical sportbike about 18 months ago. Also theres this one on UK ebay right now using FJ or maybe FZ 600 parts.. and a whole load of custom bracketry..

You need some European fork legs (sliders at least). We got dual discs as standard :D... Maybe your wheel even has the mounting bosses
for disc two under a plastic cover..

i spent a lot of time looking into dual disc for xj550 maxim
have been told by folks across the pond, many different countries including those down under that the max does not exist in europe just the seca and it is not called a seca . best you can do is find a complete "seca" front end or just the lower fork tubes and buy the rest here. seca tubes are 1 or 2 mm larger in diameter than maxims.
you will also need solid discs or right and left slotted i do not think you can mount 2 right side slotted because of the way brake pads cut across the disc

funny though someone posted the part numbers for the lower forks for a max in europe I will look for them or my post about it

front lowered-1.jpg I put 35mm forks off of a Suzuki Gs650 for the dual disc setup. Everything bolts up.... Sort of.

As pictured in another thread. Apparently the Seca 750 forks fit on the 550 Seca.

The bike in the thread that I linked? I can't tell from the photos, but I think not. The 750 has bolt-on bar clamps, where the lower part of the clamp on the 550 is part of the casting.

The fork tube diameter is the same so the 750 forks would slip right in (but be too long).
