    Finished painting the frame...installing the new head tube and swing arm bearings. Off to buy some more engine enamel paint and last Yamaha OEM parts order. New rings, base & head gaskets, and o-rings.

    OEM head gasket and 2/4 piston ring sets...base gasket, o-rings and fork seals, dust seals and snap rings should be here next week from Yamaha.

    These parts are straight out of 1982, probably an asbestos laden gasket, the good shit.

    Ill get to the whole introduction page tomorrow. As for the whole Long Beach part, have you visited the city? It's almost a county on its own, much less a small city. But thanks ! The build looks good and the XS cowl and tank look MINT!

    Yeah, I used to go by the port back in the day, LB is huge...have some close friends that live in Carson, Westwood, Santa Monica and Hollywood. The whole city is so diverse and if I ever got the opportunity job wise, I would move to LA in a heartbeat. I'm from SD so its a completely different vibe, but, I love my city! Thanks for the love, and again, sorry for being a dick...I was keyboard raging for sure.

    Hey got really into building an xj cafe because of this post. Could you shed some light on the gas tank? I looked up the 1978 xs400 tank but it looks nothing like yours. Has more of a teardrop shape. Did you mod it? Did you also have to fab the attachment to the frame? Thanks! Love your work
