looks like it was for welding to a tube. run a flat bar or plate across the frame with the proper dia half round welded to it

Ha still nothing... I'm brainstorming the idea now I've got a few ideas on the table I've done quite a bit to the bike since this post but it's getting down to where I need to make up my mind and make a move so I can move on to finishing her up and start tossing her back together... I'm running into an electrical issue now with my blinkers

Looks like its coming together! You have some springs on that seat with the hardtail? What are you doing with the old turn signals, shocks etc?

Maybe I'll see ya on the road next year, shouldn't be hard to miss you with those colors.

idk yet, I plan on keeping the shocks just in case the ride is too rough but yea their will be springs under the seat.

Good to see you tried struts first. I know a few guys have welded it up and regretted it. The guys running shorter shocks looks good. I can't recall the bike they came off of though.

I have the same seat mount. Its a great seat mount but kind of tricky with these bikes. I just put a piece of flat stock across the two flatish tubes and made a fake tube come out of it and welded the mount to that. Not sure if you are using the original tank or not but I started there for length and went right at the bottom of where the tank ends and mounted it there. Hope that helps. bike looks cool though. Keep up the work and continue to have fun.

Here is kind of a rough picture of my mock up seat mount and tank mount. I removed the flat piece from the bracket for the seat to paint.

oh you went legit hard tail, yeah that makes a better angle for a springer seat... I am using stock tank and i am leaving the stock fuse boxon top of the air filter area and putting anything over that will get in the way... I have looked at your build before i like it, turned out great I still need to order bungs and springs then ill b able to mock up with cardboard and crap to figure out exactly what i can and need to do

I left enough of the frame to weld the mounts to. Made a bracket for the front mount.
