I have an odd question. I purchased my bike last year with 33K+ miles on it. I recently noticed it showed only 23K+ on the odometer. I thought perhaps I didn't remember the mileage correctly when I purchased it, so I took out the title and it does show 33K. Is there something I could have hit while replacing the brake lines that would have moved the ten thousand digit back a number? I have been watching it since noticing the issue and the odometer is going up.

    Thanks.

Do you have an odd "Y" shaped glowing apparatus somewhere on the bike? Will it only run on plutonium? You might just have a time machine on your hands.

Sorry for the completely useless response... couldn't help myself with yet another ridiculous movie reference...

It does sound like the gear in the assembly that moves the "thousands" wheel skipped somehow...

Look at it this way, riding it this past year actually INCREASED the selling value!

More likely it's actually 23 but people THOUGHT it said 33...
We can look at it more at the carb clinic.

You didn't hook any wires up backward, did you ? Lol

not really now if sold he will have to disclose incorrect mileage on the odometer.

maybe the po put a different speedometer on the bike.

The odometer can be changed to show whatever mileage the bike really has, if you really want to.

Thanks, all. I am not worried about the impact when selling the bike. I plan on adding to, not replacing, the bike. No wires were touched recently. In fact the only change was to swap the main fuse with an in line fuse (last one using glass). I just thought it was really odd. I know it showed 33k when I purchased it. Oh well, it runs as well as any bike I have ever owned. Of course, it's the only bike I have ever owned.
