My Honda 750 Ace battery died today. I was a little upset until I checked my records and found that I bought it on Feb. 21, 2009! Not bad for a WalMart EverStart battery, ES-14BS! Unfortunately, they no longer stock it, so I ordered a Scorpion AGL battery from Battery Stuff today--$47 including shipping.

Good deal. I realised earlier today that the battery in my wife's '07 Rav-4 is the original. It still takes a full charge, has a typical resting charge, and load-tests good. This means that it will likely fail this winter, in a parking lot, during a blizzard, when I'm driving alone.

I had the same battery from Walmart and also got very good lifespan from it. Would have replaced with the same but they were sold out.

Kmoe, you hit the nail on the head. Several of my cars' batteries have died on the coldest day of winter, at least minus 30, usually in the middle of a windy parking lot. It's never happened like this on my motorcycle, yet another reason bikes are better.

The key to bike batteries is the famed BatteryTender I have one for each bike (5) and get between 4-6 years out of each one. I'd go broke replacing that many batteries every year without them!
