Up for sale are 2 XJ750R

The first at my house in Sandy is Black about 16k miles, I help my friend find this bike when he was getting into riding. It runs great, everything is there and just has a few things that should be addressed to make it a daily rider.

    Needs a new Speedometer Cable.
The Tach and recently stopped working probably just a wire/ground issue.
    Fuel gauge is intermittent.

    Has recent battery 6mo~
Good cond rear tire and decent front.
Fun to ride, and love that XJ whurr.

The Second is at his house O'Brien, OR is Red about 25k miles I also helped him find and he picked it up because the price was right and it had the full factory dress, I Fairing, Cases, and Trunk. This bike shows well needs the front calipers rebuilt/replaced and a windscreen, probably could us a carb cleaning. Stored inside.

Black bike has clean title, it seems like the Red on has a salvage title, likely towing or something in it's past.

He is motivated to sell package or separate. you can see the ads on C-list listed for $1200ea. XJBikes members will get Discounted nicely:D

Fly into PDX rent a U-Haul and drive home? (I think this is likely more than shipping)
Maybe not, Best bet for your trip would be buy the pair and a Rust free NW Pickup to drive them home with and then sell the pickup for same/profit when you get home.

The last time I shipped a bike it was only $400, and t would have been less if the buyer had been willing to wait a bit for delivery.

You didn't mention the salvage title in the CL ad......if you get a buyer, they're gonna be a little p1$$ed if they find that out later...... Kind of like the 600 Seca II that I got earlier this year and had shipped.....at least the seller was kind enough to tell me on the phone WHEN THEY WERE STRAPPING IT DOWN on the delivery truck that "oh, by the way....it has a salvage title". Last time I do business with him, and he's lost a lot of local business now, too

The Black bike is clean Title. I believe The Red one has a branded title of some sort(as shown in OP), if it is salvage you know more than I do. It says title in hand in the description of the Red one and Clean Title in hand in the description of the Black one. There is no intent to mislead anyone here. Helping friend out by listing. When buying a vehicle I always look at title before any $$$ changes hands make sure it matches VIN# etc. these are very low dollar vehicles that are 34 years old. I am willing to find out the answers to any questions that come up and so is he. I'm sorry about your previous experience but I don't know how it applies to this sale.

You told us in your initial post.
I don't know anything about your bikes other than what you told us.

Ok, so since you posted here a copy of the private mail, I'll take that as fair game to post my reply to the private mail here, too... (since I've been called on the carpet for replying publicly at times.... Which I have no problem with if someone wishes to do so ....)

    Copied from conversation:
    -------
Well, you brought up the salvage title in your first posting in the forum.

Ho does my story apply? Well, if the condition of the title is other than clear you may have fewer people interested, and those who are, may disappear after they find out. If they aren't informed auntie after a transaction is started, they may turn less than favorable. In my case, I was assured it was a clear title all the way through til it was paid and being loaded on the other side of the country.

You're trying to help a friend, but I'm just trying to help you, as someone who has bought many bikes------I have about 40 in my collection, and I'm not counting the myriad of ones I've sold......

Take it all how ever you wish.

    Dave
    ------
Note the typo "auntie" was auto-corrects version of the word "already,"

    Okay thank you.
Having dealt with many morons on Craigslist over the years I've learned that it is easier to talk the deal through with people who do call, as most don't bother to read past the title of an ad.
Also why I give the people here the benefit of the doubt and shared as much as I could at the time of posting.
