hey guys, I'm completely new to motorcycles and I recently bought myself a non running 85' xj700 . I want to build my own bike and learn how to ride with it.
Im familiar with automotive though this is my first motorcycle and first time touching one.
I just need a few detailed pictures of the motor to see where things go and where things should be and to see what I'm missing also handlebars . Anything can help

Oh...you'll need more than pictures. Your automotive experience will help, but there are several details that are quite different. My advice is to start by reading The Information Overload Hour ( link in my signature).
Having both the Haynes shop manual and the Yamaha factory service manual is also very helpful.

Thank you! I'm going to get myself the repair Manuel book so I can read up on it.
Just want pictures to see if there's anything missing so I can start looking for and buying parts.

Start with a compression test. No use buying parts if the engine isn't making enough compression to run.
