I thought about the K at the end of the plate but only after my wife had already ordered it.

Lostboy, $20 for plate/year extra for custom. I think plates are about $45 /yr total this bike.

Last year I talked to a Canadian owner of a vintage Honda 750 when I was at Glacier Park. He was pleased his annual registrations and insurance was so low. If I remember he said it was around $400... I didn't have the heart to tell him mine was less than $100 for the same (and no inspection required for title or plates).

I moved to Kansas from Oregon. I was outright shocked when my truck registration (plate and all) went from $7 per year to $325 per year (sticker and tax; plate was an extra $30).

I think you misread. The $7 per year was in Oregon.
There are some advantages to living here, but the cost of owning vehicles ain't one of them.

No sidetracks in the hangout lounge. Every thread goes exactly where it is supposed to.

    I get it now.
Dirk + Douglas = Forty Two
    42 lbs. of bacon.
    Backwards is 24 - 24 beers in a case, 24 hours in a day - NOT a mere coincidence.
    Bourbon - you always have to have 2 or 4 shots . . .

It really is connected to arriving at the right time just as it was predisposed to. . . .

Clearly Dirk Gently was the inspiration for Gandalf.

Might want to lay off the burbon for a while. ;)

Also the TV Dirk Gently is a disappointment. Not the show, but the way he is portrayed. They gave all of his best character traits to that Spider Man fella.
