    Seen that one listed before. I like that he's not worried about the slipping clutch, reassuring to the buyer for sure.

    If it were cosmetically and mechanically perfect, and had the tour pack, he'd be justified in asking that much (but shouldn't expect to get it).

    Just about every seller thinks their bike is worth more than it is. Just about every buyer thinks the bike they want isn't worth half of the asking price. I find that you have to build in negotiating room when advertising on Craigslist, although that is still a lot higher than he should expect to get offered.

    "The bike has 82hp from the factory but, with the mods, I figure it has around 115hp at the rear wheel."

    Laughed so hard I almost peed.

    Nice thing is that seat can be installed either way around. If one wears out, flip it around!

    He briefly describes how shitty it runs with the pods but somehow this is because it's making so much power.
    He needs to be a politician as he's a master at double speak.

    You have to do ALOT more than tell me the seat on my motorcycle is ugly to offend me. :D:p
    Not offended, it came with the bike so I have learned to love it, plus it makes my butt look slim and I have a place to attach my backpack (until I can develop some Mad Max cobbled together, funky looking paniers that will carry at least a 6 pack).
    A full size backpack on there becomes a back rest.
    I'm just shy of 6'3" so on hot days when 'my jewels' are sweaty I can scooch back and sit up on the higher part and get a breeze going . . . .
    But most importantly (as alluded to), I am of an age where looks really don't matter and when I am sitting on the bike pulling through the power band range - the way the seat looks, I look, the bike looks doesn't matter, it is how it performs and how it feels!

    An interesting benefit of this kind of seat is you may rest your weary head between your backseat passenger's knockers on long trips, if both sizes match.

    @Stumplifter I like your seat!

    Funny thing is I never see these types of bikes listed for an acceptable price, they're either too high or super cheap. I don't know if it's because its too hard too put a price on these now (KBB etc. is a joke) or people just don't get it. I've never bought a bike other than my wife's on craigslist etc. for this reason. Word of mouth, luck, etc. always works better. My wife's was a great deal but the trade off was a 3 hour drive.

    My case study too... $1350, 9900 miles on it... but had to drive 2.5 hours to DC to find it. The guy was super nice and held it for me for a couple weeks and didn't sell it to anyone else until I got up there.

    I found mine for $750 (That red one over there<---) '85 XJ700 Maxim on LetGo. The seat needs some love and the front fender is faded, and we all know how many horsepower that faded paint robs...

    Zip ties, naugahyde, those lights, exhaust and a bald rear tire. Kinda makes that asking price a little steep! :p
